Often, that process revolves around some kind of project. This is where you can find the results, which consist of code with no guarantees, unlikely to be maintained, but defintely free (as in beer). Comments of almost any kind are welcome, but constructive ones are more likely to get a response. I've been playing around with python lately. It's an interesting diversion from Perl.
